    Elihu "Eli" Carroll 29 May 1922 - 12 July 2012 Elihu "Eli" Carroll, 90, longtime resident of Rapid City and Keystone, SD, passed away on Thursday, July 12, 2012, at Rapid City Regional Hospital due to health complications. Eli served his country well, serving 28 years in the Air Force, including several assignments overseas. After retiring from military service in the 1970s, he worked as an instructor for Control Data with magnetic peripherals, as well a several similar businesses in the Rapid City area until he was 79. Eli enjoyed being outdoors, cutting wood, gardening, and keeping their rural Keystone homestead beautiful. Beloved by so many, Eli is survived by his wife, Maria, his sisters, Julie, Mary, Ruby, and Lula, and a brother Charles, by nephews, nieces, and friends, all from Kentucky. He is also survived by sister-in-laws Carolyn, from Kentucky, and Elizabeth, from Switzerland, a brother in law, Christian, Switzerland, and Diana Carroll Tran, foster daughter from California, along with the Badraun Families in Florida, New Zealand and Switzerland. Many close friends in this area also join the family in grieving Eli's death, including friends like family: Daniel and Heather Petersen and Family and Marina Pinon. A memorial service is scheduled for Sunday, July 15, at 2:00 p.m., at Hermosa United Church of Christ. A memorial has been established to the Senior Meals Program in Hermosa
