Christa L. Capps
Christa L. Capps, 60, Rapid City, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Saturday, July 14, 2012. She was born September 28, 1951 in Omaha, NE to Walter and Dorothy (Kildow) Parys. Christa grew up in Omaha and after graduating high school she attended college in Denver where she met Gerald Capps. They were married on March 29, 1969 at Grace Lutheran Church in Omaha. In 1987 Christa graduated as a Registered Nurse from Clarkson Nursing School in Omaha and she worked at St Joseph Hospital as a floor supervisor, Clarkson Hospital, Methodist Hospital and Home Health Nursing. After Gerald retired, they moved to Rapid City in 1997, where Christa enjoyed gardening, cooking and shopping. Survivors include her husband, Gerald Capps, Rapid City, her son, Michael Capps, (Robin), Omaha, her daughter, Venessa Capps, Rapid City, 5 grandchildren, her brother, Walt Parys, Omaha and 4 sisters; Dawn Hill, Terry Ryan (Kevin), Jenny Beskevicius (Bill) and Robin Taylor (Danny), all of Omaha. A visitation will be offered from 5:00pm until 7:00pm today, July 16, 2012 at Edstrom & Rooks Funeral Service, Serenity Springs Chapel of Tranquility. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, July 17 at Edstrom & Rooks Funeral Service, Serenity Springs Chapel of Tranquility of Rapid City with Pastor Steve Balsley, Rimrock Evangelical Free Church, officiating. Interment will be at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis. A memorial has been established by the family.
